Sharon Jan

Sharon Jan was born and brought up in New Zealand where she received early art training from her mother, a watercolourist. Her subsequent art education occurred in various parts of the globe, when and where she could fit it in, and finally, as part of a B. A. Degree at St. F.X. She has received and given numerous workshops and courses as part of the Continuing Education programme and is currently teaching in the Fine Arts Department of the university. Her media include oil, watercolour, casein, pastel, and acrylic and her current interests are oil studies of the old buildings, boats, and scenery of our region of the Maritimes with emphasis on simplicity and vibrant colour. She has always had in interest in botanicals and continues to pursue detailed studies of these in watercolour. Her workdays may be seen at Lyghtsome Gallery in Antigonish.[Gallery not found]
