Gathering of the Arts (GoArts) is an annual exhibition of regional artists’ work on display at the Peoples’ Place Library, on Main St., in Antigonish during the summer months of July and August. The exhibition is open to artists working in all visual media.  Works are selected from submissions by a peer jury panel appointed by ACA. The juried GoArts exhibit is open to all residents of Antigonish Town & County, and there is no fee to apply. In addition to the juried exhibit, GoArts has featured curated exhibits by local arts organizations and groups such as L’Arche, Arts Health Antigonish and ASAP Artist-Run Centre and our local youth artists from surrounding schools.

2017 Call for Projects

Twenty years of GoArts, twenty years of culture in Antigonish. To celebrate our 20th anniversary, GoArts will be showcasing 20 art installations in 20 unique venues around Downtown Antigonish. The library will remain our anchor exhibit but we will expand our exhibit to include surpising venues around town. We would like to showcase works in other mediums in innovative ways in our downtown installations. We are seeking dynamic proposals from professional artists or groups for our 2017 exhibit. One of our aims is to get as many different mediums into the show and to show the many ways that art fits into our lives.
