- Community Arts Coordinator
- Start Date: May 18, 2026
- 15 weeks
- End Date: August 28, 2026*
- *(Sept 18-19, 2026)
- Salary: $18.75/hr
- Hours: 35 hours a week
- Total Hours of Contract: 490 = 14 weeks @ 35 hours per week. Plus a $250 stipend for work up to 16 hours during festival weekend.

Antigonish Culture Alive is looking for an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about accessible arts programming and bringing creativity to our local community in preparation for our annual fall arts festival, Antigonight. As an assistant to the Festival Coordinator, the Community Arts Coordinator will help with organizing and hosting all summer activities for Antigonight’s promotion. Working alongside our Festival Team, they will liaise with community partners, organize arts-based activities in person and online, help with promotion, fundraise at local community events, connect with local donors and support participating artists.
Job Description: Supervised and mentored by the Festival Coordinator, the Community Arts Coordinator will liaise with community partners to integrate arts-based activities into remote and location-based programming. The programs this position is expected to host are meant to promote Antigonight as an accessible participatory local arts festival.
The Community Arts Coordinator will coordinate with local artists, venues and arts organizations. participate in promotion through hanging posters and connecting with local venues and arts organizations. They will be responsible for scheduling and administering special events. They will contribute to fundraising and public relations through hosting tables at the Antigonish Farmers Market, Antigonish Art Fair, and other promotional events. The position will also include supporting the Festival Coordinator and Antigonight board’s vision for promotion, community engagement, and liaising with businesses on behalf of the artists and festival.
The Festival Engagement Coordinator must:
- Be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary education program for the fall of 2026.
- Be confident in communicating with public, municipal staff, and artists.
- Possess organizational and event planning skills.
- Be able to complete tasks in a timely, self-directed manner.
- Be willing to represent the organisation in a professional and friendly manner.
- Own a computer and have comfort with technology.
- Provide an up-to-date driver’s licence and criminal Record Check/Working with Vulnerable Peoples upon hiring.
- Be proficient with Google Drive and Google documents.
- Take initiative to support and help envision festival programming (summer and festival weekend).
- Consult with the Antigonight team to create participatory/engaging promotions.

Under the leadership of the Festival Coordinator, the Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for promoting all summer activities for Antigonight’s promotion. Working alongside our Festival Team, they will liaise with community partners, organize arts-based activities in person and online, manage digital promotion and social media, fundraise at local community events, connect with local donors and support participating artists.
Job Description: Supervised and mentored by the Festival Coordinator, the Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for managing the Antigonight social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, etc.), the website, poster design, radio ads, submitting posts to local tourist and promotional organizations, and other publicity. They will liaise with community partners to build donor relations. They will promote online, through print, and in person a variety of programs throughout the summer building up to the fall arts festival. Along with the Community Arts Coordinator, the Community Engagement Coordinator will host tables at the Antigonish Farmers Market, Antigonish Art Fair, and other promotional events. The position will also include supporting the Festival Coordinator and Antigonight board’s vision for promotion, community engagement, and liaising with businesses on behalf of the artists and festival.
